Odesa (Ukraine: wounded beauty fighting for us IV)

At the elegant City Garden of Odesa is this exhibit of media workers (reporters, cameramen, editors...)  killed by Rashists. Some joined the service to defend their country, so they paid the ultimate price as soldiers.
Frontline reporting carries high risk. This is why the Ukrainian armed forces enforce rules strictly.

Odesa has Ukraine's most important port which is tightly guarded right now due to the war. Photos and videos toward the port are strictly prohibited. I walked its entire coast and observed the policy.

I was told the beach was mined, so please forgive me for abstaining from sharing my observation of the beautiful beaches that surprised me.

These three photos are NOT the typical beach scene:

Odesa is a highly livable beautiful city with well-preserved old buildings, excellent public transportation, and pretty much everything (markets, shops, restaurants...) within walking distance.

I stayed in a 110-year-old building (not in these photos) and was impressed by the quality provided by Europeans a century ago.

The well-designed and maintained long coastal trail is a heaven for pedestrians and cyclists.

So glad that the Moscow butcher was unable to take this prized city to ruin it.

After the victory, Odesa should deserve 5-10M tourists a year.

One can take an overnight train from Kyiv to Odesa to reach it at 6:15 after a sound sleep in a 1st class sleeper (for $45), and start enjoying the city immediately after disembarkation.
