Street view of the PRC's economy

In light of economists' views of the Chinese economy, here is my layperson's view, or a simplistic street view, of the economy of China. 

The following contribute to the growth of the economy:

1. ⬆️ number of people working.

2. ⬆️productivity

3. ⬆️portion of people doing useful things.

Here is what I see:

1. ⬇️number of people working.

The official youth unemployment rate is 19.3%. The real number is likely much higher. The PRC does not count migrant workers who go back home after losing jobs in cities. There has been a large wave of them.

2. ⬇️productivity. I am willing to believe technologies are still increasing their productivity. However, the PRC is undoubtedly regressing toward cultural revolution steadily. People familiar with the CR era know how political activities can suppress productivity. 

For example, during the CR, half a day was devoted to political study everywhere every week. I have heard they have started to bring this back. Intensifying political interference at every corner will be a broad suppressor of productivity.

3.⬇️portion of people doing useful things.

This may be the part of China that many outside it do not grasp.  A significant portion of the population is doing useless or counterproductive work. For example, the giant CCP mafia org with over 7 million dedicated staff.  Not only is their work useless for society, but also counterproductive. In other words, if all the 7+ million dedicated party staff had paid vacation, it would be a big boom for the economy. The same for a large number of people dedicated to "maintaining stability". Do the staff of Uyghur concentration camps contribute to the economy or damage the economy?

Even some gov agencies that appear to offer useful services are in this category. I have people from such agencies confessing to me that their work is completely BS, purely symbolic.

This unproductive or counterproductive portion is bound to grow under the brilliant leadership of the middle school dropout (a.k.a. Chairman Xi). Any doubt? Whatch his white-suit army wreaking havoc in China right now.

In summary, as a layperson, I am failing to see how it is possible for the PRC's economy to grow under the middle school dropout's rule.

Here is what it does things sometimes: Publishes a review initially, then rejects it later without notifying the reviewer. Suspends the reviewer's Local Guides account because of the above rejected reviews without notifying the reviewer. They do this to users who have made thousands of contributions over the years benefiting millions of Google Maps users. Continues to allow a suspended account  The review rejections are done by their flawed AI. Trump's Initial Unreasonable Demand of Ukrainian Natural Resources

The idea of Ukraine sharing its natural resources with the US, originated by Senator Graham, is genius. It removes many frictions for supporting Ukraine. However, I have an issue with Trump's original demand for the following two reasons: Trump initially demanded that President Zelenskyy sign a piece of paper to give the US 50% of the revenue from many natural resources, which could amount to $500B or more. Trump claimed that the U.S. spent $350 billion on assistance for Ukraine. The Kyiv Independent provides a detailed breakdown of the aid provided . Pentagon's official number is $183B: $52.6B financial/humanitarian aid, the most authentic aid.   $69.8B military aid largely for purchasing US weapons. $58B for the US defense industry. The US aid is substantial, but a big chunk is in the form of US weapons including surplus and decommissioned weapons. The European aid to Ukraine is $151B. Unpreventable debit card fraud

A fraudster withdrew cash from my Discover debit card account 11 times (7 in NH and 4 in RI, all at Shaws stores) within an hour or so until the account was largely depleted. I have never lost the debit card or left it unattended outside my home. The following is one of the eleven transactions: I use the card only twice or thrice a year for the only purpose of cash withdrawal. I rarely touch cash nowadays. I never enter the card number online. The card number does not exist online anywhere. My two frequently used credit cards have no issues, so I do not see the possibility of identity theft.  I strongly suspect the fraud was done either by a Shaws employee or with the assistance of a Shaws employee so he could bypass as many checks as possible.  Discover's customer service is superb.
